Requests
for Services
Following are some of the
many services Instructional Technology offers:
|
Duplication Services |
The Media
Department records chapel services and many
events that occur on campus. In most
cases, copies may be purchased upon request.
For more information, or to place a request
for duplication services, call the Help Desk at 5302. |
|
Classroom
Equipment Needs |
Requests
for equipment to be used in the classroom should
be directed to the
equipment
pool where you will be teaching (see below).
The secretaries in these areas schedule use of
equipment. If additional equipment is needed,
they will contact Media Services.
All classrooms
have overhead projectors and projection screens.
Other equipment, such as CD-R,
laser disc, cassette
deck, CD player, mini-disk player, sound system,
scan boxes and document cameras for presentation
of flat or three-dimensional objects, is available
depending on the location of the room.
For more
specific information about these locations, call
the Help Desk (5302). Thirty-eight SMART Classrooms
have also been installed throughout the campus.
For information on these classrooms, including
location and amenities, see
the Smart Classroom Web
Page. |
|
Equipment
Repair |
Repair
of classroom equipment has a very high priority.
Equipment pools have an extra overhead to temporarily
replace an overhead in a classroom. We will also
temporarily exchange any other equipment if possible.
When equipment needs repair, call the Help Desk
(5302).
The four (or five) digit equipment number,
location of the equipment and description of the
problem is needed to help expedite the repair. |
|
Sound
Equipment Needs |
Requests
for sound equipment should begin by requesting
a Facilities
Use Request Form from the individual responsible
for the facility that is to be used.
For example,
all requests for the use of Chalfant Hall are made
through the conference director (5045); athletic
fields, Birchard Gymnasium and McHie Arena through the
athletic director (5372); Ludwig Center through the
director
of community life (5320); Larsen Fine Arts
Center through the music department (5110) Reed
Hall of Science through the natural sciences
division chair (5395).
Sound equipment will be
scheduled after appropriate signatures are received
and a discussion of sound needs with
Media
and Technical Support.
The completed
Facilities
Use Request Form and the meeting with Media
need to be completed no later than the Friday
before the week that the sound equipment is needed.
Too often requests are received the day of the
performance. If requests are not submitted in
a timely manner, we cannot assure that service
will be rendered. |
|
Chapel
Requests |
All
requests for Chapel must go through the
Office of the Chaplain and be received by the Wednesday of the
week before the chapel service to which
the request refers. The Office of the Chaplain can
be contacted at 5236 or send e-mail to
Beth Olney, the
secretary to
the chaplain. |
|
Production
Services |
All
requests for media services will be placed
into a work order system. Requests may be submitted by
phone (5302), e-mail,
campus mail or walk-in. All media personnel
are trained to place orders into the work order
system. Unless other arrangements are made,
a personal contact will be made when the request
is completed. Requests that go into the work
order system are:
-
Repair
(mentioned above)

Computer
training

Production
